Your essay is the core of your College Common Application.

It's more than a test of your writing skills.

It's more than chance to say what colleges want to hear.

Your essay is your golden opportunity to show colleges who'll be on campus--using details, examples, and specifics that bring your unique personality to life.

Drawing on over a decade of experience as an English instructor, author of online guides for college applications, and writing coach for Ivy League med school applicants, I'm here to help you or your child craft an exceptional application essay.

Working together, we'll save time, effort, and worry by efficiently approaching each stage of the writing process, including:

  • Brainstorming and selecting an essay prompt

  • "Expansive drafting" techniques that grow an essay into a unique, personal, and powerful body of writing--instead of stressing about perfection too early

  • Revising in order to highlight the traits colleges are looking for

  • Fine-tuning each sentence to unlock a final draft that's professional, polished, and full of personality

  • Responding quickly and effectively to follow-up questions or "secondaries"

  • Developing strategies to support you or your child's unique strengths and writing style, drawing from the Anti-Boring Learning Lab and my wealth of experience supporting multilingual, first-generation, and neurodivergent applicants--and dozens of unique students who've earned admission into their dream schools!

Ensure that you or your child's College Common Application essay communicates the creativity, character, and resilience that colleges are searching for.

Use the button above to tell me a bit about you or your child's college goals.

I'll follow up with some ideas about how to make them a reality!
